On October 10 the Yerevan phase of the competition titled “Under Parajanov’s Light” took place at Avetik Isahakyan Central Library. During the Yerevan phase 69 works of pupils from 11 schools of Yerevan were presented. The works of Yerevan phase have been observed and appreciated by the Head of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport and the Committee member Karine Atshemyan.    

Mr. Davtyan noted in his word that the title of the competition: “Under Parajanpv’s Light” is symbolic, as the great artist was free and unrestricted in his creative manifestations. The goal of the competition is to promote adolescents’ creative imagination, give them an opportunity to display their creative potential and flight of thought. He has noted that the competition was held in many marzes of the RA and in Artsakh, now it is the turn of the citizens of Yerevan . Mr. Davtyan has mentioned that all the participants will receive certificates, whereas the best works will be presented in the republican competition. Artak Davtian thanked the participants and the organizers.

Karine Atshemyan also thanked the library leadership for creating a warm atmosphere. Turning to the participants and their works, he has stated that all the works are good, as the Armenian children are gifted. Mrs. Atshemyan advised the children, taking the advantage, to watch Parajanov’s films and follow the changes which will be going on in their hearts dealing with the great artists’ works. Thereafter, the jury members watched the children’s works: paintings, photos, collages. Artak Davtyan and Karine Atshemyan kindly spoke with children, asked the titles of the works, listened to their comprehension of their own works and the competition. Finally, 12 works have been chosen by the jury, though impressive and beautiful works were many.
